Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans (Proverbs 16:3).
The Hebrew word “commit” in this verse literally means to roll one’s concerns onto the shoulders of another. Imagine a personal trainer standing behind someone lifting weights. The trainer removes the weights from the lifter, taking the burden and responsibility of the weights. When a believer places plans onto God’s shoulders, the results become God’s responsibility. He delights in the transfer, because He knows that the believer needs His wisdom and direction. God’s success rate is perfect, and He will not fail those He loves.
Committing your way to the Lord gives Him permission to fulfill the plans He has placed in your heart. What plans have you yet to commit to God’s shoulders? Roll them off your shoulders onto His. Give Him the stress, the worry, and the timetable of fulfillment. He may choose to fulfill those plans immediately, tweak them a bit, or redirect your heart toward a better plan.
Prayer Suggestion: I relinquish the ownership of my plans and give them to You.
